Sir Humphry Davy(17 dec 1778-29may1829)
A British cornish chemist and inventor,who
is best remembered today for isolating a
series of substances for the first:potassium
and sodium in 1807 and calcium in 1808.
sir Humphry davy was able to isolate calcium
by the electrolysis of a mixture of Lime and
Mercuric oxide(HgO) .He named Calcium after
the Latin word 'calx,which is what the Romans
called"Lime"
